Perception of Art* (Aesthetics)

A PHOTO PROJECT AND FINE ART SERIES (GOAL: PHOTO BOOK + EXHIBITION)

An ambitious long-term photographic series exploring the intersection of fashion and fine art, produced at Sylte Studios in Oslo since 2021. The project aims to create over 200 images for curation, culminating in a published monograph and gallery exhibition.

Through systematic monthly production sessions, this body of work investigates contemporary visual language with a focused creative team and carefully selected talent. Each shoot produces a minimum of five distinct looks, building towards a cohesive series that challenges the boundaries between commercial fashion photography and museum-quality fine art.

The series represents a sustained commitment to photographic excellence — work conceived for both editorial contexts and exhibition spaces, crafted to international standards from an Oslo studio with European reach.

Creative Direction

This series explores the intersection of fashion and fine art through carefully constructed imagery designed for both gallery exhibition and collectible print formats. The work pushes beyond conventional fashion photography into contemporary art territory — subtle compositions, abstract framing, and minimalist aesthetics that prioritise creative collaboration over elaborate production.

Each image is conceived to work equally well as a museum-quality print or within a published monograph, maintaining an artistic rigour that appeals to both cultural institutions and editorial contexts.

Collaboration

The project centres on sustained creative partnerships with select talent who bring strong interpretive skills and an intuitive understanding of artistic direction. Success depends on building genuine working relationships that allow for experimentation and improvisation within carefully considered frameworks.

Collaborative model compensation:

  • Choice of portraits from each session, or full portrait session (valued NOK 12,990)

  • Fine art print plus project monograph upon completion
